Girls
International Forum (GIF) is a nonprofit organization created
to help girls worldwide connect with each other, raise issues of
common concern, develop workable solutions, communicate their ideas,
and take action.

Help girls develop the leadership, networking, and personal
and public advocacy skills they need to bring about change in
their communities and to influence public policy worldwide to
improve lives.
- Help build teams of girls to create and implement Action
Projects, designed to address critical issues affecting people
locally and globally.
Internship
Description: Interns are needed to take on a variety of
responsibilities. Following are 4 areas of focus that we would like
interns to work in:

Research: Conduct research a) in the areas
of best practices in girl-centered programs focusing on human
rights, education, health (teen pregnancy and HIV/AIDS), economic
empowerment, and ending violence, and b) on the status of girls
around the world as it relates to these areas.

Volunteer Coordination: Work with girls (ages 12-18) distributing and collecting survey information,
drafting planks of the Platform for Action, and designing
projects that involve girls in taking action on the Platform.

Fund Development: Assist
in all aspects of fund development, including donor research
and grant-writing.

Communications/PR: Work with the Advisory Committee
on implementing a public relations program. Revise and update
online database of girls programs as well as with work on the
website. Coordinate e-newsletter on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated skills in research and writing
- Commitment to working collaboratively with girls and improving
the status of girls and women; interest in international girls’
and women’s issues
- Motivation to take responsibility in a collaborative, creative
manner
- Basic computer knowledge; database and website development experience
desired but not necessary
